Exploring the relationship between industrial pasts and sustainable futures, and how post-industrial landscapes narrate their own legacies and forms of community-making Virtual Sharing of Of the Earth Tickets, Wed 16 Dec 2020 at 13:00 | Eventbrite Throughout 2020, Natasha Borton has been conducting creative research in and around Wrexham on a new project for theatre, supported by National Theatre Wales’ Creative Development department. The questions she and her collaborators have been exploring have been around the relationship between industrial pasts and sustainable futures, and how post-industrial landscapes narrate their own legacies and forms of community-making. Informing this work has been an interest in protest, and the sounds we associate with it, past and present, from the Miners’ Strikes to recent global climate justice demonstrations. On Wednesday 16th December, this work will be shared in a virtual event, open to all. These sessions will take place from 1pm until 4pm, via Zoom. There will be a sharing of work from the five artists involved in the project so far including Natasha Borton, Melys Edwards, Anastacia Ackers, Isabella Crowther and Oliver Stephenson. The pieces will be shared alongside a period of discussion between the artists and open questions from participants. The afternoon will be an opportunity to discuss the project and the concepts surrounding the project, and how the project has been influenced by hyperlocal participation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
