National Theatre Wales TEAM is looking for 10 young people aged 18 – 29 years old to take part in 3 days of workshops with Wrexham-based facilitator Natasha Borton.
The workshops will explore the community around Ty Pawb, including the makers space, market stalls, food court, the Useful Artspace, and the current exhibition from Bedwyr Williams Milque Toast. The workshops will be 2 hours on Tuesday 31st August, Wednesday 1st, and Thursday 2nd September with a showcase recorded on Thursday 2nd September.
We will cover the written word through storytelling, spoken word, and non-fiction as well as exploring theatre and performance. The sessions will culminate in the final production to showcase the work designed and created by the participants. All participants will receive £30 each per session for attending. The workshops will also be part of the Far Apart UK research project which will explore how arts organisations in the UK are using online platforms and other means to support the mental health of young people during a global pandemic, with a particular focus on how young people and arts workers experience this change.
Natasha Borton is an experienced community artist, facilitator, and advocate who uses performance art as a tool for social change and discussion. Based in Wrexham, North Wales, Natasha encourages individuals to respond to the world around them and platforms community voices through spoken word, music, and theatre.

Bydd y gweithdai yn archwilio’r gymuned o amgylch Ty Pawb, gan gynnwys ardal y gwneuthurwyr, stondinau marchnad, cwrt bwyd, yr ardal Celf Defnyddiol, a’r arddangosfa gyfredol gan Bedwyr Williams, Milque Toast. Bydd y gweithdai yn 2 awr ar Dydd Mawrth 31af Awst, dydd Mercher 1af a dydd Iau 2ail Medi gydag arddangosfa wedi’i recordio ar ddydd Iau 2ail Medi. Byddwn yn ymdrin â’r gair ysgrifenedig trwy adrodd straeon, gair llafar ac ysgrifennu feithiol ynghyd ag archwilio theatr a pherfformio. Bydd y sesiynau’n gorffen gyda chynhyrchiad terfynol i arddangos y gwaith a ddyluniwyd ac a grëwyd gan y cyfranogwyr. Bydd pob gyfranogwyr yn derbyn £30 yr un am bob sesiwn.
Bydd y gweithdai hefyd yn rhan o brosiect ymchwil Far Apart UK a fydd yn archwilio sut mae sefydliadau celfyddydol yn y DU yn defnyddio llwyfannau ar-lein a dullai eraill i gefnogi iechyd meddwl pobl ifanc yn ystod pandemig byd-eang, gyda ffocws penodol ar sut mae pobl ifanc a gweithwyr celfyddydau yn profi’r newid hwn.
